Reece Elliott, a professional chef from the restaurant ‘Bentleys’ in Mayfair London, spent the day cooking with some Year 9, 10 and 11 students. The students had, hands-on involvement, cooking seabass with a creamy white wine sauce and a strawberry soufflé . All who took part had an amazing experience. Some even said “ that it was the first time they had tried eating fish”.
Reece has been a chef for about 7 years. At the age of 18 he went back to train as a professional chef. It was a lot of hard work to get where he is today, “ I’ve been shouted at and told off many times for my mistakes, but I’ve learnt from them. Being a chef turned my life around, it gave me direction and discipline”.
Feedback from our students included:
‘I thought it was going to be alright but I genuinely had an enjoyable experience and learned a lot’.
‘It was an enjoyable experience and my first time working with fish’.
‘It was amazing and I learnt something new’.
