AQA Food Preparation and Nutrition (8585)

Paper: 1 hour 45 minutes
Exam: Tuesday 9th June 2020 PM

Section A 20 marks – multiple choice

Section B 80 marks – 5 questions which will include sub-sections

These topics will include:

  • Food Safety (how to cook food safely)
  • Food Provenance (where does food come from – how is it grown/produced etc)
  • Food Choice – (why do people choose the food they choice – animal welfare/religion/culture)
  • Food, Nutrition and Health (macro-micronutrients, vitamins and minerals, diseases such as obesity, type 2 diabetes)
  • Food science – reactions which occur within food –  (coagulation/dextrinization/emulsification/enzymic browning/caramelisation etc)
